Jayden's playmat is finally complete and he LOVES it. It was so fun to make and it's so nice to see him enjoying it. The design was fairly straight forward. I used a hula hoop for the arches and covered them with some extra fabric I had leftover from the quilt. The scraps measured about 9 1/2cm wide by about 125cm long (with a 2cm seam allowance). I left an extra 4 inches of fabric at each end, folded it under and sewed it to the bottom of the quilt. I made 6 small ties to attach the rings and one large one to keep the arches in place in the centre. I just used what I had to hang from the arches, a few plastic rings and a Whoozit toy for the centre. Total cost? About $18.
Wow! It's gorgeous! I feel like a slacker now for not making my own playmat for James or Will.
